Puerto Rican basketball players Javier Ezquerra of the Vaqueros de Bayamón and Emmanuel "Maldo" Maldonado of the Cangrejeros de Santurce traded their team uniforms for haute couture, debuting as guest models in the "Poder Sutil" fashion show by Puerto Rican designer José Teixeira, held this past weekend at San Juan Moda in the La Concha hotel. Both athletes are talents of DSports Network, and their participation presented the designer’s new collection while highlighting a meeting of two industries the show framed as sharing discipline, passion, character and determination: sports and fashion.
The collaboration was part of special initiatives leading up to the 25th anniversary of DNetwork, a Puerto Rican communications, public relations, entertainment and talent representation firm whose sports division, DSports Network, develops opportunities for its talents beyond their disciplines. Waldo Díaz, president of DNetwork and DSports Network, said the firm believes in connecting industries, talents and opportunities, and that seeing its athletes on the San Juan Moda runway reflects the company’s evolution over 25 years, helping talents transcend the courts and strengthen their image and connection with new audiences.
DNetwork continues marking its quarter century ahead of its anniversary celebration on November 21, under the concept "25 Years: One Evolution… One Network."
