Why this matters: With more than 50% of participants in past fairs receiving job offers, the seventh edition gives San Juan-area job seekers a direct path to openings in healthcare, sales, and technology at over 120 companies.

EL VOCERO, its sister publication W Journal, and Conexión Laboral of San Juan will hold their seventh job fair on Thursday, October 29, at Plaza Las Américas in San Juan, in the former Sears location, from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM. More than 120 companies will take part, expanding job openings across the north-central region in sectors including healthcare, sales, and technology. Pablo Rovira Bonnin, Director of the Department of Labor Development for the Municipality of San Juan, expects between 1,200 and 1,500 attendees and said the fair offers more than entry-level positions, aiming for long-term, permanent placements.

Participating companies include DECA Analytics, Burger King, PromoExport, and the Encanto Restaurants franchise group. Support services will include occupational counselors to guide candidates on interviews, a social worker, and help with resume writing and interview preparation. Last year’s fair drew around 97 companies from the region, including the municipalities of Dorado, Bayamón, and Guaynabo, with nearly 1,200 attendees, a figure Rovira expects to surpass.

In previous fairs, more than 50% of participants received a job offer, serving both experienced workers and first-time job seekers. Salvador Hasbún, president of EL VOCERO, said the fairs offer employers a reliable resource for finding talent and job seekers an opportunity for immediate recruitment.
