A four-year-old girl was found alone and barefoot outside the exit gate of the Las Dalias condominium in Carolina on Wednesday morning at about 7:30 AM. A Carolina Municipal Police officer on patrol spotted her, jumped a fence and a wall to place her in safety, according to the complaint. The girl said her father was sleeping in one of the apartments.
The man later woke up, found himself alone, and went out looking for her. The officer took the girl to the apartment, where no one was present, so he activated the established protocol and notified the Department of the Family, which took emergency custody of the child. The case was referred to the personnel assigned to the Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Division of the Criminal Investigations Corps (CIC) of Carolina, who will continue the investigation.
