A cattle farmer in Naguabo, Puerto Rico reported on Thursday that a pack of wild dogs has killed several cows on his farm, causing him losses of at least $9,000. Félix Mendoza said on Telenoticias that the animals usually attack at dawn and flee when he or his employees approach. They mainly attack cows in labor (cows that have just given birth) and young heifers.

Beyond the financial losses, Mendoza worries about the safety of his workers. He filed a complaint with the Police and is awaiting a court order to determine what steps he can take next.
