Puerto Rico Police Bureau agents arrested Víctor G. Matos Ortiz, 48, a fugitive wanted on a domestic violence warrant, on Saturday on San José Avenue in Aibonito. According to the police incident report, Matos Ortiz faced an arrest order with bail set at $200,000 on charges of abuse, threats and violation of the Weapons Law.
The investigation found he allegedly inflicted physical and psychological violence on the victim. The arrest was carried out by the Intelligence and Arrests Division agents Juan Rivera and Valerie Vázquez. Matos Ortiz was brought before Judge Roberto Capestany Quiñones of the Aibonito Court, who ordered him held in a correctional institution after he did not post bail.
