The Puerto Rican romantic comedy 'El amor que nunca llega' opens on November 5 in Caribbean Cinemas theaters, produced and directed by Puerto Rican filmmaker Eduardo J. Villanueva. It is a Spanish-language adaptation of a novel by Puerto Rican poet Carlos Quíles, rewritten entirely for the screen by Villanueva. The lead cast includes Cristina Sesto (Farah), Luis Enrique Romero ('El Viejo'), Rubén Pazo (Pedro) and Paola Tirado (Marta).

The film was shot entirely in Cayey, Puerto Rico, over six days of production. It follows Farah Huertas, who at 40 has perfected the art of failed dates and no longer believes in love but keeps showing up anyway. She receives an anonymous message with no name, photo or explanation, and instead of ignoring it, she responds, leading to an absurd and emotional journey through digital love and a mystery she cannot stop pursuing.

Villanueva called it a very personal and magical project and a gift to his family. The production suggests a green dress code for the premiere, which Villanueva said honors the green of Cayey’s mountains so audiences become part of the experience. The film had the collaboration of the Puerto Rico Tourism Company.
