Why this matters: Riders on Bayamón routes D91, D92, D37, T2 and the Bayamón-Hato Rey train line will see the artworks daily through the end of January 2027, giving the public transit system a cultural showcase.

GALERÍA Puerto Rico has turned seven buses of the Metropolitan Bus Authority (AMA) and one Tren Urbano unit into rolling artworks, launching in Bayamón and running through the end of January 2027. Eight artists from Puerto Rico, Colombia and Venezuela painted the vehicles, chosen from a call that drew more than 1,000 applications and nearly 300 proposals, evaluated on artistic track record, visual impact and cultural connection.

The Puerto Rican works are "Soñando" by Sergio "STUFF" Vázquez, "Baya-Móntate" by Spear Torres, "Seguimos Aquí" by Abismael "Aby" Ruiz, "La Mirada" by Don Rimx and "Baitcaster Zippo" by Carlos Dávila Rinaldi, joined by "El Coquí de Golden" by Venezuelan artist Golden, "PERREO RICO" by Colombian artist MANIATIC and "Seguimos Siendo Niños" by Colombian artist AGÜD. AMA president Luis González Rosario said the initiative brings art to communities and a new image to the agency. Torres said "Baya-Móntate" honors his native Bayamón; Don Rimx drew on riding the Metrobús 2 as a young man.

Yellow Media Group president Tito Feliciano praised the project. The buses run routes D91, D92, D37 and T2 in Bayamón, and the train unit serves the Bayamón-Hato Rey line.
