Maderera Donestevez, Inc., a Puerto Rican family-owned distributor of wood, plywood and construction materials, announced an investment of more than $3 million to remodel, expand and modernize its main store and facilities on 65 de Infantería in Carolina as it celebrates its 65th anniversary. The expansion includes a new showroom of more than 6,000 square feet, new product lines, an open-aisle hardware store with a wide product variety, and renovated customer service areas.

President José Alejandro Donestevez said the investment reflects the company’s confidence in Puerto Rico and its people. The showroom is designed for architects, designers, contractors, cabinetmakers and the general public, featuring product lines for kitchens, bathrooms, closets and finishes for residential and commercial projects. The company employs more than 130 people across Puerto Rico and operates five wood treatment plants and its own free trade zone, which supports its export competitiveness.

Over the past five years it has increased exports to Latin American and Caribbean markets by more than 50%. Founded in 1961 as a small warehouse, the company is now run by its fourth generation, with José Alejandro Donestevez as president and Carla Donestevez as vice president, both on the administrative team since 2012. The anniversary will be celebrated the week of November 2 to 7, 2026, with the official showroom inauguration, guided tours, supplier meetings and product demonstrations.
