The American Association for the Advancement of Science is holding its annual convention at Ana G. Méndez in Carolina, Puerto Rico, focused on community problems and how science can help solve them. The purpose of the conference is to bring science to a general audience, and on Saturday, November 7 the focus is on posters made by students, which for the first time in the convention’s history are being presented to the public.
The event aims to present as many sciences as possible, including life sciences, mathematics and social sciences, all focused on communities. Several community leaders are presenting these topics. This year’s edition is dedicated to María Falcón, and the teacher of the year honor goes to professor Héctor de Jesús. The event is completely free and runs until 5 p.m.
