Bacardí Corporation and Universidad Ana G. Méndez (UAGM) have inaugurated the second Bacardí Center of Excellence, located at the Cabo Rojo University Center. This expansion of their three-year alliance, which began at the Carolina campus, aims to strengthen academic preparation for students in the western region of the island, serving as a laboratory for educational experiences in mixology and hospitality.
The center will have access to top-level resources, with support from industry leaders and participation from Bacardí experts and ambassadors offering workshops, tastings, and specialized seminars. Elissandra Urbina, Bacardí Puerto Rico's commercial director, stated that the initiative reaffirms their 90-year commitment to investing in local talent and contributing to the island's sustainable growth. Dr.
José F. Méndez Méndez, UAGM president, defined the opening as an important step for the campus, strengthening hospitality and mixology training and reaffirming their commitment to innovative education. The first Bacardí Center of Excellence opened in September 2023 at the UAGM Carolina campus, part of the José A. 'Tony' Santana International School of Hospitality and Culinary Arts.
