The Office of the Independent Special Prosecutor Panel (OPFEI) has expanded its investigation into alleged improper interference in government processes. The case initially targeted former Office of Permit Management (OGPe) Assistant Secretary Norberto Almodóvar Vélez and former Chief of Staff Charlene Neuman Rivera.

However, the probe now includes other officials in the current administration allegedly connected to the same scheme. The investigation was prompted by Sebastián Negrón Reichard.

The FEI Panel Chair discussed the scope of the investigation, stating that the case has merit. The OPFEI is examining the allegations involving the additional officials to determine the extent of their involvement in the scheme.
