The Puerto Rico Energy Bureau (NEPR) has scheduled a technical hearing for Thursday, June 25, to question representatives from LUMA Energy and Genera PR about the proposed increase of 2.34 cents per kilowatt hour (kWh) for the quarter starting July 1. This increase is being considered in the context of expected normalization of global fuel markets due to agreements between the United States and Iran.
The NEPR will interrogate the representatives during the hearing. The proposed increase is set to take effect at the beginning of the next quarter, and the hearing will provide an opportunity for LUMA Energy and Genera PR to respond to the proposal.
The increase is specifically for the quarter starting on July 1, and the hearing is a step in the process of evaluating the proposed change.
