A 16-year-old girl was shot during a shootout in Río Piedras in the early hours of Saturday. The incident occurred at 2:14 a.m. on Avenida José de Diego, at the intersection with PR-181. The police report states that a 911 call reported shots fired, and upon arrival, officers found the girl with a gunshot wound and two men, aged 44 and 18, injured with glass fragments.
All three were taken to a hospital and are in stable condition. Agent Edra Plaza, under the supervision of Sergeant Joanlee Rivera Ramos, is investigating the case. In a separate incident, a 26-year-old man from Georgia was shot at 2:37 a.m. at a Burger King in Trujillo Alto.
The police found the man with two gunshot wounds in the back and his condition is listed as guarded. One person is in police custody in connection with the shooting, and a firearm, ammunition, and a vehicle were seized. Agent Carmen Rivera is continuing the investigation and consulting to present charges.
