Puerto Rico Positioned as a Floral Education Hub

Updated Jun 20, 2026 · via El Nuevo Día

The Asociación de Diseñadores Florales de Puerto Rico (ADFPR) has established itself as a unique educational ecosystem, impacting local and international professionals, just six months after its inception. Founded by Eileen Ramos, the organization aims to provide quality education in floral design, eliminating the need for professionals to travel abroad for specialized training. With 40 active members, the ADFPR has executed a combination of in-person and virtual workshops, attracting participants from Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, and Mexico.

The organization's long-term vision is to convert the island into the primary hub for floral education in the Caribbean, attracting international talent and creating a space for creative and professional exchange. The ADFPR was formed after a meeting led by Miguel Morales, where past presidents and board members of floral organizations validated the need for a formal educational entity in Puerto Rico. Ramos highlighted the importance of hands-on learning from international experts, allowing for a more enriching and transformative experience.

The organization continues to expand its educational offerings and invites professionals in the sector to join its community.
