Zashely Alicea, the current Miss Universe Puerto Rico, will relinquish her crown on June 25, 2026, at the Miss Universe Puerto Rico pageant in Caguas. She reflects on her reign as a year of evolution, during which she discovered herself and her capabilities.
Alicea will pass on her crown to one of 35 candidates vying to become the new representative of Puerto Rico in the international competition. After her reign, Alicea plans to pursue a career in modeling, utilizing her image to promote Puerto Rican culture and women's talent.
She had previously worked as a professional dancer but had no experience in modeling before participating in the Miss Universe pageant. Alicea will make her official farewell at the 'Gala de Reinas' event on June 20, 2026, at the Bellas Artes in Caguas, where she will share the stage with the candidates for the upcoming pageant.
