A 91-year-old man, Ángel I. Ramos Luna, died after being struck by a vehicle in Comerío on Saturday at approximately 5:54 p.m. The incident occurred on PR-779, kilometer 0.2, when a 61-year-old driver of a 2007 Suzuki SX4 collided with Ramos Luna, who was attempting to cross the road.
According to the police report, Ramos Luna fell to the pavement and died from his injuries at the scene. The driver, who was found to have 0.00% alcohol in his system, was identified but not named. Agent Joe Miller and prosecutor Naylimar Arroyo are handling the investigation.
This incident brings the total number of pedestrian fatalities in vehicle accidents this year to 38, two more than the 36 reported at the same time in 2025.
