Nine students from the University of Puerto Rico at Río Piedras' (UPR-RP) Program for University Studies for Confined Persons were recognized for completing their master's degrees in Cultural Management and Administration (MAGAC). The graduates, including Omayra Torres Sánchez, Yarelys Rossy Pérez, and Sheila Figueroa Suárez, were honored in a ceremony.

Torres Sánchez, who started the program in 2014, developed a thesis titled 'Voces que resisten' (Voices that Resist), which proposes a legal guide for women in prison. She explained that she wrote the guide in accessible language to help women understand the processes they are subjected to and improve their living conditions.

The graduates emphasized that education has empowered them and transformed their lives, providing them with tools to overcome adversity and set new goals. The program has been a turning point for them, helping them to value education and recognize their own strength and resilience.
