The President of the Puerto Rico Aqueduct and Sewer Authority (AAA), Luis González Delgado, confirmed the resignation of Luis Ortiz Salgado, Executive Vice President of Operations, effective June 30. González Delgado thanked Ortiz Salgado for his contributions and wished him success in his future plans. The resignation comes amid a water crisis, but González Delgado assured that it will not affect the continuity of AAA's operations or the execution of strategic projects.

The reason for Ortiz Salgado's resignation was not disclosed. The departure follows a controversy over the handling of a water service interruption in Loíza, where the municipality was without water for several days after sediment removal work was done at the Loíza Valley water intake. Ortiz Salgado had met with local mayors to discuss possible water rationing, but later confirmed that it was not necessary.

González Delgado stated that he was not aware of the meeting or any operational strategy related to planned interruptions.
