Javier Mojica made history by reaching 7,000 points in the Baloncesto Superior Nacional (BSN) as the Vaqueros de Bayamón eliminated the Mets de Guyanabo with a 104-83 win at the Coliseo Rubén Rodríguez. Mojica, 41, became the 27th player to achieve this feat in the league's history, doing so in the 9:12minute of the fourth quarter with a three-pointer. The game stopped to celebrate his achievement, and he was congratulated by his teammates and opponents, including Ysmael Romero.
Mojica finished with 17 points in Bayamón's last home game of the regular season. He expressed his emotions, stating that it meant a lot to him and that he is happy to still be contributing to his team at his age. The Vaqueros improved to 22-11, leading the Conferencia A, while Guaynabo was eliminated with a 14-18 record.
The loss also secured playoff spots for the Gigantes de Carolina-Canóvanas and Cangrejeros de Santurce.
