The city of Caguas will host 'The Cocktail District' (00725), an event that will bring together 28 bartenders from different generations to celebrate the legacy, evolution, and future of Puerto Rican mixology. The event will take place on July 13 and August 17, 2026, from 7:00 p.m. onwards, at the district where Efímero.Bar is located. The street will be closed to vehicular traffic, allowing the public to enjoy an outdoor celebration with cocktail stations, gastronomy, music, and an atmosphere designed to showcase local talent and foster interaction between the industry and consumers.
The event's creator, Billy Joel Roque Colón, owner of Efímero.Bar, aims to recognize Caguas' extraordinary history behind its bars and demonstrate that the city remains a reference point for Puerto Rican mixology. The first day, 'La Vieja Escuela – Caguas Edition', will feature renowned bartenders who helped build the city's bar culture, including Kenny Méndez, David Maldonado, and Nicky Fas. The second day, 'Nueva Escuela – Caguas Edition', will focus on the new generation of bartenders, with participants such as José Rodríguez 'Jochi' and Francisco Sierra.
Each bartender will present an exclusive cocktail created for the event, offering the public the opportunity to taste original proposals.
