The Puerto Rico Sports Hall of Fame has begun the selection process for its 2026 class, which will include nine new inductees. A nominations committee has chosen 15 candidates, including Yadier Molina (baseball), Mónica Puig (tennis), and Jaime Espinal (wrestling), who will be evaluated through a voting system. The voting system will involve sports journalists, Hall of Fame members, organizations, and previously registered fans.

Other nominees include Vanessa García (swimming), César Mercado (athletics), Benito Santiago (baseball), and several others. The new selection process is part of a modernization effort to increase participation beyond the Board of Directors. Interested individuals can register to vote through the Hall of Fame's official website, and the voting period will conclude on August 14.

The ceremony to announce the new inductees will be held at a later date.
