A couple from Arroyo, Angeline Lamboy Pérez, 37, and Emmanuel Lugo Ramos, 30, have been sentenced to 75 years in prison for sexually abusing and committing lewd acts against three minors in Guayama. The sentence was imposed by Judge Carol Ortiz Rivera of the Guayama Court of First Instance. According to Secretary of Justice Lourdes Gómez Torres, the couple maintained a pattern of continuous sexual abuse, physical and emotional maltreatment against the minors, who were 11, 9, and 7 years old at the time of the incidents, from 2018.
The prosecution, led by prosecutors Loraine Acevedo Rodríguez and Natasha Martínez Rivera, presented expert, testimonial, and documentary evidence that established the couple's guilt. The total sentence of 75 years for each includes aggravating factors determined by the jury during the trial. The investigation was led by agent Yanixia Sánchez of the Guayama Criminal Investigations Corps' Sexual Crimes Division.
Gómez Torres stated that the sentence reflects the severe consequences for those who commit such heinous crimes against minors.
