The Manatí Atenienses selected Abeliz Rodríguez as the first pick in the Baloncesto Superior Nacional Femenino (BSNF) New Player Draft, marking the official start of the 2026 season. The Leonas de Ponce chose Yeikamarie Jiménez second, followed by Paola Hernández to the Monarcas de Juana Díaz and Taína Pagán to the Ganaderas de Hatillo.
The first round also included Sariana Rodríguez to Santurce, Yaxeli Miranda to Carolina, Ciara Harris to Hatillo, Julianna Rosario to Caguas, Alanis Díaz to Ponce, and Gabriela Solis to Fajardo. The draft was held at Telemundo's facilities during the Primera Pregunta program, where BSNF President Gaby Miranda welcomed the teams and wished them success.
The event included a message from last year's Rookie of the Year, Nina De León, congratulating the first pick and highlighting the value of local talent. The next BSNF tournament is projected to start between September 12 and 15.
