A woman was found with a serious head injury in Fajardo, allegedly inflicted by her partner with a hammer in a domestic violence incident. According to preliminary reports from the Police press office, a man arrived at a police station in Carolina around 3:00 a.m. and reported that he had attacked his partner with a hammer, then turned himself in.
Police officers from Fajardo initially checked the victim's residence but did not find her. After checking hospitals and not locating her, they returned to the residence with the man's keys and found the victim in her bed, seriously injured.
She was taken to a hospital in critical condition. The Homicide Division of the CIC in Fajardo, along with the on-duty prosecutor, joined the investigation, and the corresponding protocol was activated.
