The World Salsa Congress, now in its 30th edition, celebrates its permanence and evolution, positioning Puerto Rico as a global reference for the genre. This year's edition, with the theme '30 years, 30 nights, 30 stories', marks the beginning of a new era. The event will feature competitions, workshops, and concerts open to the public from July 30 to August 1, 2026, at the Fairmont El San Juan Hotel in Isla Verde.
Additionally, a new tourist-cultural platform called 'Destino Salsa 2026' will promote Puerto Rico as a year-round salsa destination, offering activities, hotel alliances, and experiences for visitors from July 1 to August 1, 2026. A renovated 'Galería de la Salsa' will also be presented, featuring memorabilia from 21 historical figures of the genre, and will be open to the public at the Fairmont El San Juan Hotel from July 17, 2026. According to Eli Irizarry, founder of the World Salsa Congress, 'Puerto Rico is mature enough to receive anyone interested in living the salsa experience at any time of the year'.
The congress will include public and private activities, and workshops will be available to the public for a fee.
