The Pescadores del Plata de Comerío became the first team to qualify for the Final Four in the 2026 Double A Baseball League season, defeating the Maratonistas de Coamo 9-7 on Friday at the Luis Guillermo Moreno stadium in Santa Isabel. Comerío improved its record to 5-1, while Coamo was eliminated from the national semifinal with a 1-5 record.
Héctor Hernández earned the win, and Luis Leroy Cruz saved the game in his first appearance since the Carnaval de Campeones. José Ortiz drove in two runs, and Luis Colón and Pedro Crespo each scored twice.
In other games, the Tigres de Hatillo shut out the Libertadores de Hormigueros 2-0, and the Gigantes de Carolina defeated the Petateros de Sabana Grande 5-2. The game between the Mulos de Juncos and the Azucareros de Yabucoa was suspended due to rain and will resume on Sunday.
