Christian 'Cuco' López, a 31-year-old, 6'0'' guard from Caguas, has been awarded the Sixth Man of the Year in the Baloncesto Superior Nacional (BSN). López had initially quit professional basketball in 2018 to become a physical education teacher due to insufficient pay.

He worked at B YOU Academy in Caguas before returning to basketball during the COVID-19 pandemic. López began playing again in 2022 with the Indios de Mayagüez, then moved to the Leones de Ponce, but it wasn't until he joined the Criollos de Caguas in 2024 that he found success, averaging 12.6 points per game.

His perseverance and determination earned him the Sixth Man of the Year award, beating out Justin Reyes of the Capitanes de Arecibo in the voting. López's story is one of overcoming adversity, and he has become a beloved figure in Caguas, with fans embracing the 'CucoManía' phenomenon.
