Governor Jenniffer González Colón presided over commemorative acts for the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States of America in San Lorenzo's Plaza de los Alcaldes. The event was attended by state and federal officials, members of the Armed Forces, veterans, community leaders, and citizens.

Secretary of State Rosachely Rivera read the proclamation for the Semiquincentennial of the Founding of the United States of America. The event included the swearing-in of 250 young people from across the island, aged 10-14, as the Tricentennial Generation, who will carry on the legacy of the first 250 years of the nation's founding.

The celebration also featured protocolary acts, special recognitions, and a civic-military parade. Governor González Colón highlighted that the semiquincentennial represents the celebration of a nation founded on democratic representation principles and dedicated the event to the pursuit of statehood.
