Suspect in Robbery Dies After Being Shot by Police in Río Piedras

A 38-year-old suspect, identified as Davidson Febus Hernández, died after being shot by a Puerto Rico Police officer in Río Piedras. According to preliminary information, Febus Hernández allegedly entered a convenience store, threatened an employee with a gun, and stole money from the cash register.

He then fired shots into the air outside the store and escaped in a wine-colored car. Police later identified the vehicle near a condominium in Río Piedras and, after a confrontation, an officer shot Febus Hernández, who died at the scene.

The case is being investigated by the San Juan Criminal Investigations Corps, the Special Investigations Bureau, and the Police Reform Office's Force Investigation Unit.
