A 23-year-old woman, Génesis Torres Núñez, died in a motorcycle accident on Sunday in Villalba, according to the Police. The incident occurred at around 9:00 p.m. on PR-143, kilometer 37.8, near El Miradero. Torres Núñez was driving a red and white Honda CRF-450 motorcycle when she lost control and crashed into a concrete barrier, suffering severe injuries.
She was taken to the Hospital CDT San Cristóbal in Villalba, where she was pronounced dead due to the trauma she received. The mayor of Villalba, Dan Santiago, expressed his condolences, identifying Torres Núñez as the daughter of his cousin and leaving behind a 2-year-old child. The Police reported that this accident brings the total number of traffic-related deaths to 125 so far this year, 16 less than the 141 reported at the same time in 2025.
Agents Gustavo de Jesús and fiscal Natalia Pizarro are in charge of the investigation.
