The Puerto Rican film industry is set to establish new precedents in national culture with the release of 'Sana y Salva', the new film by director Ari Maniel Cruz, which will arrive in Puerto Rico theaters on August 13. Before its commercial release, the production will have an exclusive premiere on August 8 at the historic Teatro Alejandro Tapia y Rivera in Old San Juan.
The film tells the story of Esther, a pregnant immigrant who arrives clandestinely in Puerto Rico and becomes the target of authorities. Alongside Arcadio, a man with limitations but a big heart, they embark on a journey through Puerto Rico to reach Esther's aunt's residence in San Juan before the birth of her baby.
The film features Julietta Rodríguez, Mario Guerra, and Adriana Paz, among others. The premiere aims to bring back the glamour of big movie premieres to the country's cultural scene, with the Teatro Tapia serving as the setting for an elegant and culturally significant evening.
