On Wednesday, state and municipal agents rescued a dog and its seven puppies from an abandoned residence in Aguadilla after receiving an anonymous call. The Police reported that the call, made to the municipal headquarters, alerted them to the presence of the animals on Ruella Lequerica street.
Upon arrival, agents found the dog and puppies tied up and took charge of them. The animals were then transferred to the Clínica Veterinaria Borinquen, where they received medical attention and were vaccinated.
The Police also worked with a rescuer from Las Piedras, who took custody of the animals. Authorities did not specify if the owner of the animals was identified or if charges for mistreatment or abandonment are being considered.
