A 25-year-old man was shot and wounded after reporting he was kidnapped and robbed of his vehicle Thursday night in the Bairoa neighborhood of Caguas, Puerto Rico. According to a preliminary police report, the incident was reported around 8:23 p.m. at a sports court, where the victim said he was surprised by four hooded, armed individuals. The suspects allegedly threatened him with firearms and forced him into his vehicle, a 2025 wine-colored Hyundai Venue bearing license plate KRF-523.
He managed to get out of the vehicle, at which point the attackers shot him multiple times, hitting him in various parts of his body. He was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital, where he was treated; police reported his condition as stable. The preliminary investigation was led by Agent Karelys Machín of the Caguas police district.
The case has been referred to the Division of Robberies, Extortions, Property, Assaults and Missing Persons of the Puerto Rico Bureau of Criminal Investigations (CIC) in Caguas.
