The body of a man was found early Friday morning at Playa la Selva, within the Northeast Ecological Corridor, in the Juan Martín neighborhood of Luquillo, according to the Puerto Rico Police Department's press office. Preliminary information indicates a phone call was received at 6:15 a.m. at the Luquillo District police station reporting a dead person at the edge of the mangrove.
When officers arrived, they found the man's body with a head wound; it has not yet been determined whether the injury is consistent with gunshot wounds or a blow from an unspecified blunt object. Agents from the Fajardo Homicide Division, together with the on-duty prosecutor, are investigating the scene.
