A woman was shot in the face during an altercation reported around 4:15 p.m. in Naguabo, according to preliminary information from the Puerto Rico Police. The incident occurred on Route 31, near the ball park in the La Fe community. A call to the 9-1-1 Emergency System alerted authorities to an assault at the location.
Upon arrival, officers found the woman with gunshot wounds, and she had to be transported by air ambulance to the Río Piedras Medical Center. Preliminary information indicates the victim was involved in an altercation with another woman, who shot her during the incident. Afterward, the other woman involved was reportedly taken to the Naguabo police station to be questioned by agents from the Criminal Investigation Corps (CIC) of Humacao.
Primera Hora learned that one of the women involved in the altercation is an officer with the Naguabo Municipal Police. The Assault Division of the Criminal Investigation Corps of Humacao is investigating the incident.
