Police in Puerto Rico reported that a charred body was found Saturday inside a burning vehicle on V-1 Street in the Luquillo Mar development. Authorities were alerted via a call to the 9-1-1 Emergency System received at 3:21 p.m.
Firefighters from the Fire Bureau (Negociado del Cuerpo de Bomberos) extinguished the fire in a white Toyota 4Runner. Once the blaze was out, officers discovered a charred body in the back seat with a gunshot wound to the side of the skull.
The victim's identity has not yet been released. The Homicide Division of the Bureau of Criminal Investigations (CIC) in Fajardo is leading the investigation.
