Debt Collection Turns Violent in Puerto Nuevo

A violent incident occurred in the early morning hours of Monday in the Puerto Nuevo urbanization, reportedly during a debt collection. According to the police report, a 22-year-old woman arrived at a man's residence to collect a debt at 12:30 a.m. and was attacked after he took her cell phone. Another man came to her defense after hearing her scream, but was threatened with a firearm and engaged in a physical altercation with the alleged attacker.

The attacker used the gun's butt to strike the man on the left cheek, causing an open wound. Both men left the scene on foot, and the injured man later received medical attention at a nearby CDT, where he was diagnosed with an open wound. The woman did not require medical attention, and no arrests were made in connection with the incident, which is under investigation.
