Judge Juan Portell of the Bayamón Tribunal determined cause for arrest against Raymond J. Andino López, 18, for violating two articles of Puerto Rico's Firearms Law (articles 6.22 and 6.05 of Law 168) related to the possession and handling of an illegal firearm, obstruction or resistance to public authority, and aggravated damage. Andino López posted a $20,000 bond and was released until the preliminary hearing.

According to the investigation by Agent José Díaz, Andino López was riding a 2024 Fengyun Tank motorcycle in the Plaza del Sol shopping center parking lot when he fled from authorities who were about to stop him for not having safety equipment. A pursuit ensued, ending at the intersection of PR-167 and Uruguay Street in Bayamón. After abandoning the motorcycle and fleeing, officers found a bundle containing a 9mm Glock 19 pistol, two magazines with 41 rounds of ammunition, for which Andino López had no license, and $217 in cash.

The motorcycle was confiscated, and Andino López was later captured. Prosecutor Josué Padilla was in charge of filing the charges.
