The Puerto Rico Senate is considering summoning Governor Jenniffer González Colón as part of a multiparty investigation into alleged corruption at La Fortaleza. This comes after three public officials made sworn statements that lawmakers believe require immediate scrutiny, related to contract interference at the Economic Development and Commerce Department (DDEC).
The investigation was requested by a minority group and is currently being discussed by the island Legislature. If formally activated, the probe could lead to the governor being called to testify before the Senate.
The DDEC is at the center of the allegations, with lawmakers citing the need for further investigation into potential corruption.
