Weather conditions in several U.S. East Coast states disrupted air operations to and from Puerto Rico, resulting in around 20 canceled flights to destinations including New York, Boston, and Orlando.

According to AEROSTAR Puerto Rico, operator of the Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport, 12 flights scheduled to arrive on the island and eight scheduled to depart were canceled this Monday. Most of the affected flights belong to JetBlue, though one Delta Air Lines flight was also canceled.

Travelers with flights scheduled that Monday to or from the East Coast were advised to check their flight status directly with the airline before heading to the airport. In recent days, smoke from active wildfires in Canada has affected air quality in parts of the northeastern United States, including cities like New York and Boston, according to reports from U.S. weather and environmental authorities.
