The Institute of Forensic Sciences (ICF) has completed the autopsy report of 25-year-old Karianis Vega Rodríguez, who was found naked and with injuries in a condominium pool area in Cabo Rojo in May. The report, which establishes the cause and manner of death, has been sent to the Department of Justice. The ICF's executive director, María Conte Miller, expressed her understanding of the family's pain and assured that the investigation was conducted with scientific rigor and sensitivity.
The police report indicates that the incident was reported on May 26 at 7:50 a.m. after a 911 call alerted authorities to a person with injuries in the pool area. Vega Rodríguez was found with lesions on her face and legs and was taken to the Mayagüez Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead. The ICF will continue to collaborate with authorities and will not release further statements on the autopsy report.
The case is under investigation.
