A dispute between neighbors over mechanic work on a junk car in Barranquitas turned violent when one neighbor allegedly attacked the other with a machete, according to the Puerto Rico Police. The incident occurred on August 3 at 5:20 p.m. on PR-773, kilometer 2.0, in the El Farallón sector.
A 69-year-old man claimed he complained to a 42-year-old neighbor about the mechanic work, leading to a discussion that escalated into an altercation. The younger neighbor allegedly attacked the older man with a machete, causing two injuries: one on the right side of the head and another on the right forearm.
Paramedics provided first aid and transported the victim to a hospital, but his condition was not reported. The investigation was referred to Agent Elizabeth Alvarado of the Aibonito Criminal Investigations Corps' Homicide Division.
