The Museo del Caney de la Fama, la Cultura y el Deporte Salinense is celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Central American and Caribbean Games with an exhibition showcasing the achievements of four prominent athletes from Salinas. The exhibition, titled 'Los Reyes de las Alturas', highlights the unique feat of brothers Rolando and Rubén Cruz, who won gold and silver medals in the pole vault event for three consecutive editions of the Games.
The exhibition will feature a charla by historian and writer Wilfredo 'Puruco' Torres and will include information about Julio Llera and Rumildo Cruz. The exhibition will be open to the public from 1:00 pm on Saturday and will run until 2027.
The museum has previously hosted exhibitions on boxer Ángel 'Cholo' Espada and baseball player Guillo Rosado. The four athletes featured in the exhibition combined to win six of the 19 medals Puerto Rico won in athletics at the Central American and Caribbean Games.
