Ocean Lab Brewing Co., a Puerto Rican craft brewery, has inaugurated its fifth location and expanded its manufacturing operations in Cataño with an investment of $9,675,793 in machinery and equipment, supported by incentives from the Department of Economic Development and Commerce (DDEC). The expansion will create 60 full-time jobs, according to the DDEC.

The new facility will allow the company to triple its production capacity to 600,000 cases of craft beer per year. The operation is located on an 80,000-square-foot private property in Cataño, where the main beer production, distribution warehouse, marketing workshop, and administrative offices will be concentrated.

The DDEC provided $2,962,738 in incentives, including $60,000 for job creation and $2,902,738 for the acquisition of machinery and equipment. Luis Fernández, co-founder and CEO of Ocean Lab Brewing Co., expressed gratitude for the DDEC's support, while Secretary Carlos Ríos Pierluisi highlighted the expansion as an example of the capacity of local entrepreneurs to produce for the global market.
