A 62-year-old man and his wife were victims of a home invasion in the Islote neighborhood of Arecibo on Thursday afternoon. The victim reported that he was smoking a cigarette outside when a man armed with a blade announced the robbery.
The victim tried to escape, but the assailant caught him and entered the residence, intimidating the couple and stealing $30 from the man and $80 from his wife. The suspect also took a cell phone and several pieces of clothing, whose value has not been determined.
The assailant then forced the victim to drive him in his Nissan Rogue Sport to the PR-681 road in the Islote neighborhood, where he got out of the car without harming the victim. The investigation is being handled by the Robbery Division of the Arecibo CIC.
