Published Aug 14, 2026 · via Primera Hora

In Yabucoa, 38 vehicles declared public nuisances were removed by the Division of Stolen Vehicles from the Humacao area, in coordination with PRIDCO, the Yabucoa Municipality, and local police. The vehicles, abandoned over the years in an unused industrial structure, violated Municipal Ordinance No. 19, series 2025-2026.

The operation aimed to address a situation involving abandoned vehicles used for the clandestine extraction and sale of parts. The vehicles were removed using Puerto Rico Police cranes and taken to the Yabucoa Municipal Department of Public Works facilities, where they will remain until their disposal is completed.

The operation was led by Sergeants Yomarie Calderón and María Lebrón, in coordination with Lieutenant Félix R. Morales González, director of the Division of Stolen Vehicles in the Humacao area.
