Governor Jenniffer González Colón will declare a day of mourning for each of the four deceased figures from politics and sports, whose deaths were announced on Thursday. The individuals include Cataño Mayor Julio Alicea Vasallo, former Luquillo Mayor José Manuel 'Nelo' González Ortiz, former Bayamón Representative Herbert Torres Quiles, and former boxer Prichard Colón.
The exact date for each day of mourning will be announced later, once the families have disclosed the funeral arrangements. During the day of mourning, flags will be flown at half-staff at government and municipal facilities.
The governor also expressed condolences to the families and highlighted the contributions of the deceased individuals.
