Bolt, a dog shot during a murder in Quebradillas' Vigo Salas residential area, showed signs of recovery on Tuesday, with regained sensitivity in his hind legs. According to Sharon Deliz, vice president of the Rabito Kontento Foundation, which is caring for the dog, Bolt's condition remains delicate due to significant blood loss from the wound.
Veterinarians are unable to perform surgery to remove the bullet until he is stable. The foundation reported that the medical team is working day by day with Bolt, adjusting his pain management, and waiting for him to stabilize before surgery.
The organization has also learned more about Bolt's history, discovering he was a community dog known as 'Pinto' who had been on the streets of Quebradillas for over a year. Rabito Kontento is now considering finding a permanent home for Bolt, in addition to ensuring his survival and recovery.
