The Center for Analysis of Crime Incidence and Clarification of Crimes has reclassified a homicide that occurred in Naguabo as a justified homicide. The incident took place on January 6th at 2:55 a.m. in the Promised Land urbanization, where a 28-year-old resident claimed to have found an unknown man inside his home, restraining his mother.
The resident shot the man, who was later identified as 34-year-old José Luis Rodríguez Algarín from Luquillo. Initially, the resident was detained and read his rights, but an investigation by Agent Joan Méndez and Prosecutor Miguel Hornedo, as well as an autopsy, confirmed the resident's account.
The paramedics had certified that Rodríguez Algarín showed no signs of life at the scene.
