The Puerto Rico Symphony Orchestra (OSPR) is set to begin its 2026-2027 season, titled 'Viaje en el tiempo con la OSPR' (A Journey Through Time with the OSPR), in September. The season will feature 11 classical concerts, four pop concerts, and various special, educational, family, and university concerts.

Melissa Santana, executive director of the Puerto Rico Symphony Orchestra Corporation, expressed satisfaction with the upcoming season, which aims to balance traditional pieces with contemporary trends. The season will open on September 5, 2026, with a program featuring music by Richard Strauss, William Walton, and Edward Elgar, conducted by Maestro Maximiano Valdés and with the participation of Puerto Rican violinist Jaime Amador as a soloist.

The orchestra's calendar will continue on September 26 with the return of Italian director Enrico Fagone, who will lead performances of works by Rossini, Mozart, and Tchaikovsky. The OSPR has been a constant presence in Puerto Rico's cultural life for nearly seven decades, showcasing important classical works and providing opportunities for Puerto Rican composers.
